Installing gdbm, db, perl, bc, openssl

gdbm

(if this gives an error, it might have to be installed as root)

tar xf gdbm-1.10.tar.gz
cd gdbm-1.10
./configure  --prefix=/tools 
make -j 8
make install
cd ..

db

tar xf db-5.3.21.tar.gz
cd db-5.3.21
cd build_unix
../dist/configure  --prefix=/tools 
make -j 8
make install

cd ..

perl

tar xf perl-5.16.3.tar.gz
